DESCRIPTION
Increased productivity and reduced machine throughput time
We supplied all of the electrical equipment for the turning machine, including the command and control electrical cabinet, pre-wired cables on the machine and auxiliary services and cables for connecting the motor drive. All fully integrated in a single solution, configured through a codified system of a base machine and options. Personalisation allows a third level of customisation for all specific and special user needs.
The customer’s objective was to increase productivity without increasing resources and to reduce machine throughput time during assembly. Objectives which have been achieved in full: the machine now, on completion of the mechanical installation, receives the fully integrated and customised electrical system.
Once the electrical wiring has been completed, the machine is ready for start-up and testing.
Productivity for the end customer has improved significantly, by around 20%, and the lead time for electrical wiring, start-up and final testing was reduced by 50%.
Currently, between 15 and 20 systems are produced per month.
The solution was developed in close collaboration with the customer and not only covers the product design, it also includes project management, which starts with the sales configuration and, through the integration of electrical CAD, configurator and ERP, generates all technical information required for production and planning.
