Automation of a flexible production process
The scope of supply was the design and manufacture of a full robotic workcell for the production of different types of aluminium profiles.
The result of integrating in one workstation 1 loading station, 1 cutting machine for varying lengths of profiles, 3 robots, 2 vision stations for robot guidance when picking up 4 types of inserts from 2 vibrating feeders, 1 drilling, deburring and insertion station and 1 unloading station.
An essential requirement for this system was the ability to automate a highly flexible production process based on the production of 10 possible aluminium profiles, each with different lengths and different types of inserts, in order to guarantee high levels of efficiency and productivity without sacrificing the quality of the finished product.
The solution produced by MR Robotica met all of the customer’s requirements and successfully delivered a system capable of automatically handling of frequent production changes in full in a record time of 10 seconds. All of this is managed in an integrated way by a single HMI/SCADA software package that facilitates production scheduling, making the management of the entire plant intuitive and facilitating the monitoring of the relevant KPIs.
The workcell was designed and built in full by MR Robotica and was the result of a well-established partnership with the customer, for whom we had also built other robotic workcells.
